33-Year
Resident Of LaSalle
About Me
Character, Integrity, Strong Work Ethic, Experience
I am a retired Superintendent of Education from the WECDSB and a 33-year resident of LaSalle, married to Cara with two adult children, Andre and Celina. The decision to build our home in LaSalle was an easy one and has proven to be a wonderful place to raise and nurture a family.
As a retired Superintendent, I have a lot of time and attention to devote to LaSalle. I’ve always believed, as evidenced by my extensive community involvement, that we all have a responsibility to participate, give back and pay it forward. LaSalle is truly a gem in this part of Southwestern Ontario and I believe we are very fortunate to live in this great town. There is much to celebrate and be thankful for! With the right focus on what is necessary, we can together continue to make LaSalle an attractive place to live, prosper and raise a family.
During my first year on LaSalle Council, I have been diligent in my preparation for each council meeting and have consistently demonstrated oversight on financial matters. I have challenged administration to fully integrate all costs associated with the reports presented to fully include a more transparent picture of operational costs and spending which in turn impacts the levy and in return, the tax base. As I declared last year during the by-election, there is still work to be done and I will continue my commitment to be a voice for the taxpayers of LaSalle.
Platform & Priorities:
Focus on what the real and necessary priorities are in our service to the community
- Prioritize Affordable Taxes and Services, Strategic Planning & Development, Safe and Clean Neighbourhoods
- Prioritize town infrastructure to meet the needs of an ever-expanding town
- Safe neighborhoods – support for police and essential services – maintain designation as one of the safest towns in Canada – in Ontario, LaSalle ranked #1, with the lowest Crime Severity Index
- Priority to ensure that adequate reserves are in place in the case of a catastrophic event and for future unexpected provincial legislative requirements
- I travel in many circles, education, athletics, arts and hear what our citizens are thinking and concerned about – they expect value for taxes they pay!
