About Me
Character, Integrity, Strong Work Ethic, Experience
I am a retired Superintendent of Education from the WECDSB and a 32-year resident of LaSalle, married to Cara with two adult children, Andre and Celina. Our decision to move to LaSalle and build our home was easy because it was and is a wonderful place to raise and nurture a family. It was one of the best decisions that we could make as a young couple. I later learned that my grandfather and uncle had left war-torn Europe in 1948 after two world wars and a revolution in order to make a better life and future for the families. Interestingly, the LaSalle O’Gorman family, who were in the business of farming, sponsored my grandfather and uncle so they could emigrate to Canada and work in the fields here in LaSalle. Fast forward, in 1992 we purchased a property to build our home in the St. Michael’s Park area. My mother quickly reminded me that we used to picnic here when I was 7 years old – right where our home is built. We were destined to be a part of the LaSalle community! I believe that together we can move forward and create some great opportunities here in LaSalle!
As a retired Superintendent, I have a lot of time and attention to devote to LaSalle. I’ve always believed, as evidenced by my community involvement, that we all have a responsibility to participate, give back and pay it forward. LaSalle is truly a gem in this part of Southwestern Ontario and I believe we are very fortunate to live in this great town. There is much to celebrate and be thankful for! With the right focus on what is necessary, we can together continue to make LaSalle an attractive place to live, prosper and raise a family, just as my grandfather had envisioned.
